Natural Fracture Techniques in Tree Surgery

Natural Fracture Techniques

This tree has been made safe using a pruning technique called Natural Fracture.

This involves pruning the dead tree leaving shattered or torn edges. These edges give the appearance of the natural damage a tree would suffer after high winds, rather than the clinical attention of a saw.

These cuts provide a better aerial habitat for a wide range of woodland creatures including micro-organisms, insects, birds and bats.
